*Happiness is contagious. When we see people smile, we tend to smile more. When we hear people laugh, it makes us want to laugh too. If we associate with happy people we have a higher tendency to feel happy also. This maybe one of the main reasons more and more people want to call Sharm home or at the least become a frequent visitor. When your social contacts are happy, there is an increase in your own happiness.
Here in Sharm there is a thriving expatriate community living in harmony with the Egyptian people. Many Egyptians also made the move to Sharm from their hometowns elsewhere in Egypt, for a variety of reasons, but mainly economic. Sharm ended with a delightful mix of happy people and an interesting blend of cultures. The year round sunshine and the glorious Red Sea makes it a winning combination.
The impressive Egyptian history attracts millions of visitors to Sharm each year. Most stay in the hotel zone, which stretches along the Sinai Peninsula and veers off alongside the Gulf of Aquaba. Access to the interior of Sinai is via fairly good tarmac roads on each end of Sharm. There is stunning backdrop to Sharm el Sheikh and its towns dotted along the shoreline, a magnificent desert mountain range runs dramatically horizontal along the coast.
Without doubt Sharm is the place to go for underwater exploration. The clarity of the water is inconceivable. While some choose to don a wetsuit and swim with the incredible underwater wildlife, others prefer to keep dry and watch through a glass-bottomed boat.
For a taste of culture head off into the Sinai desert or to Cairo just 50 minutes away by plane, here the cultural experience is much more authentic. Dazzling ancient ruins are only a few hours away in Luxor, Aswan and in Petra just across the Red Sea in Jordon. A spectacular evening light and sound show can be enjoyed at the great pyramids in Giza, Cairo.
Sharm translates to ‘small bay’ or ‘cut in the coast line’ in Arabic, which was fitting title mere decade ago. Little more than fishing village abounded here. The Egyptian government and big developers invested heavily into this vacation destination, and over time, it certainly paid off. Now a grand selection of hotels and restaurants guarantees a brand new experience during every visit.
For the property investors small and big the time is right and the opportunities are endless for an excellent return on their money. So the next time you are in Paradise spend some time exploring the potential, you may well find the effort worthwhile.
All in all Sharm el Sheikh is a great place to visit and invest your time in having a good look around.
